Each year, MSc students at Alliance MBS have the opportunity to go on a team-building residential trip to Brathay, close to Windermere in the Lake District National Park. The Brathay trip is packed full of outdoor activities, challenges and teamwork sessions aimed at helping students to build relationships with fellow master’s students. This is great preparation for group work throughout their master’s course and career.

The trip is included in your course fees so you don’t need to pay anything extra. Here’s what some of our current students had to say about their experience on the trip:

Felix Schneider – MSc International Business and Management, Germany

“Brathay was the perfect start to the semester. We were lucky as the trip was scheduled right at the end of induction week, so it was the perfect opportunity to free your mind and get to know many of your course mates in the beautiful environment that is the Lake District.

“I really enjoyed the exercises and challenges that we were exposed to. Not only were they great fun, but also really useful regarding teamworking skills and cultural awareness within a diverse group. Brathay certainly made me appreciate that everybody has their own way of doing things and every group should use the diversity of ideas to their advantage.”

Amarildo P Medez – MSc Operations, Project and Supply Chain Management, Portugal

“I loved Brathay residential trip, it was a great opportunity to meet people from my course and some from similar courses. It made going to lectures much easier because I was familiar with everybody on my course.

“I met great people during the trip with whom I’ve loved to exchange perspectives. It was a great day of fun, networking and team-working, a trip I recommend every student to go on if they have the opportunity.”

Dana Maleb – MSc Quantitative Finance, Lebanon

“Brathay was definitely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It is an opportunity to get to know your classmates and meet new people. It dares you to be your best and to challenge yourself and your inner fear. It also places a lot of emphasis on trust among your classmates because later on you will have to do your coursework projects together.”

Minaal Shah – MSc Business Analysis and Strategic Management, UK

“The Brathay residential trip was one of the ways I attempted to push myself out of my comfort zone. I had so much fun getting to know my peers on my course through the various team building activities they planned for us. Learning how to canoe was also a very enjoyable experience – the best part about it was that it was all included in the tuition fee!
