After completing the MSc Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship course in 2020, Jonas Singer is now a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Vector Homes – a Manchester-based company that is developing sustainable, modular and smart housing.

Jonas speaks about his journey from student to start-up:

"In 2019, I arrived from Germany to study the MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (IME) course with the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR) at Alliance Manchester Business School.

"The IME programme helped me to better understand innovation and entrepreneurship in its wider context as well as its global implications. I encountered not only the University itself but also the active ecosystem of entrepreneurship and new technology in Manchester – with its many innovation and entrepreneurship-focused events, programmes, and associations."

What am I doing now?

"After completing the course in 2020, I am now a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Vector Homes – a Manchester-based company that is developing sustainable, modular and smart housing.

"I first got in contact with my co-founders through a webinar about Manchester’s Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre that I participated in as part of an IME unit on global challenges, emerging technologies, and governance.

"After working with my three co-founders for several months to perfect our technologies, we’re now at the stage of realising our vision and engaging with architects, universities, developers and suppliers. We are also about to submit an Innovate UK bid and to raise our initial seed round."
