Why does it feel like time is just running by and a day definitely has less than 24 hours to it??? …Oh right, the exam period starts in 2,5 weeks. I spend most of my days studying now and I’m glad that many of our lectures have finished by now so that we have more time for revision.
At least the weather is not keeping me away from studying because it has been raining almost every day since I came back 3 weeks ago. When I complained to a German friend about it, the only answer I got was that I had moved to England so I should have expected some rain 😉 But I don’t want to scare you – The weather here in Manchester isn’t always that bad.
BUT something really exciting happened this month. Just before I left for Germany in March I applied for a strategy workshop in Kent hosted by the Boston Consulting Group. I saw the opportunity on the Facebook group of the university’s Careers Service, which is doing a really great job by the way.
I didn’t think I would get invited as this workshop is for students, graduates and professionals but just when I came back to Manchester I got the mail, that they’d be delighted if could take part in the workshop. The workshop is held on the first weekend of May so I will fly to London and from there continue my journey to Leeds castle with other participants. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to get some insight into consultancy with one of the “Big 3” in the sector. I will let you know how it went in my next blog entry!
I also booked my flights for summer break – I will return to Germany on the 7th of June and start my internship about one week later. I will work in the procurement department of the same company I worked with last year and hopefully have such a great time living and working in Hamburg as the summer before.
Summer break starts in 36 days 😀
