Every time I tick off one thing my to do list, I add about 5 more things I have to get done before flying to the USA. Luckily I have 10 days left before starting my study abroad adventure.
My internship in Frankfurt was definitely a good experience and now I am sure that I want to start working with an auditing company when I graduate from MBS. My colleagues were really nice and I started off my internship with a one- day seminar in Hamburg. Even though there is less work to do for auditing companies during the summer time, I have learned a lot about this sector and also spend a week working on a hotel job near the border to Luxembourg.
A friend from Italy visited me for a few days in Frankfurt as well. I have met her in 2007 in the States since we were exchange students at the same high school and I haven’t seen each other since 2009 when I went on a skiing trip to Italy. I also went to Cologne for a day and went to Luxembourg with a colleague so my summer has been really great so far. Not to mention the great summer weather we’ve had for weeks!
In North Carolina I will be living in a hall (or dorm as an American would say) again. I am sharing a room with a girl from China who’s also studying abroad at the Business School. The two of us will be sharing a bathroom with two sophomore girls from North Carolina. Sharing a room will definitely be a whole new experience!
My timetable for next semester isn’t too bad as I’m off on Fridays and if I can change one of my Business School modules I will be off on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays which would be great for travelling. Unfortunately UNC doesn’t offer many accounting classes but at least I have the chance to take classes I wouldn’t usually take at MBS. At the moment I’m enrolled in Global Environment of Business, Groups & Teams, Operations Management, Real Estate Management and Mergers & Acquisitions but I would like to switch Groups & Teams for a class within the Department of Economics.
I will fly to Raleigh-Durham Airport on August 18th, the orientation takes place on August 19th and classes start the next day so there are busy days ahead of me. Next time I will blog from Chapel Hill, NC, United States of America!
