October is coming to an end and with each day graduation is one step closer. Never mind those two exam periods taking place between now and then 😉
Just before reading week I had to hand in my first piece of coursework. The essay was for Behavioural Strategy and worth 30 % of the final grade. The other part of the grade is determined by a case study we have two write about a company of our choice. The good thing about the first essay being due so early is that we can get feedback from the lecturer before we submit the second piece of coursework.
I’m glad that half way through the semester we have one week off to recharge our battery and to catch up on some reading from the first few weeks of the academic year. I stayed in Manchester during reading week and spend most of my time doing some uni work and researching Master’s programmes. At the beginning of my week off I went to the My Future event, which was a full day career’s event organized by MBS. The day included workshop sessions and an opportunity to talk to different employers during an employer panel and at the stands set up in the business school. My favourite workshop was a mock assessment centre run by CIMA which will certainly come in useful when I start applying for jobs.
I also went to a cupcake decorating class at Hey Little Cupcake in Spinningfields, which was great fun and the cupcakes I decorated certainly looked amazing.
If you have attended an open day at the University of Manchester you might have seen me around. I was working as a student ambassador at Manchester Business School so I showed prospective students around and tried to answer any questions they might have.
