Farewell Manchester

Graduation was almost two weeks ago and it really was one of the best days I have experienced. As I was getting ready in my apartment, the rain was pouring down, but as soon as I arrived on Oxford road it stopped and the sun made an appearance! So we even had lovely weather too! I picked up my hat and gown and met my family outside University Place to take many (many, many, many) pictures. We then went to the drinks reception at the Alliance Manchester Business School. It was so special to see all my friends and their families celebrating an amazing four years. Our graduation ceremony was at 2.30pm. The Whitworth Hall looked incredible, the organist was playing and we all found our seats ready for our brief moment on stage. As I sat waiting for my time on stage, I thought about how lucky I have been to have been part of such a brilliant University and to have been given experiences of a lifetime. My name was called and I luckily made it across the stage and down the stairs without falling in my heels. Later that day, my family and I celebrated with a lovely dinner and then I went out with all my course mates. It was a really great day, one that I will always remember.

I’m heading back to Manchester in a few weeks to pack up my apartment and say a final farewell to a wonderful city. Now I’m onto the next new place; Dublin. I am house hunting at the moment and looking forward to getting to know another new city and starting my job with M&S. It’s been an amazing four years and I am so thankful to look back on my time in Manchester with a huge smile.

I was so nervous about moving my life to America for a year but from all I have experienced in this month, the fear, the stress and the immense change have definitely all been worth it!
