The new Full-time MBA Class of 2016 completed its four-week induction last week with a residential trip to Brathay, the Lake District. The MBAs took part in four days of experiential outdoor development activities. This involved working in multinational groups to complete a combination of high intensity physical and mental challenges and reflective sessions. Each student was encouraged to examine their personal strengths and impact within a team, and understand how a group needs to operate to reach its desired outcomes. The MBAs learned how to best apply their strengths within a team and when to step aside; they also improved their tolerance of cultural differences. The class is now well placed to successfully complete its first group consultancy project – the Not-for-Profit Project.
