John WoodsJohnathan Woods (President), Alexander Staub (Vice President of Marketing), Daniele Iannaccone (Vice President of Communications) and Nicolas Bonati (Vice President of Events), from the Technology, Media and Telecoms club at Alliance Manchester Business School, announce their sponsorship from Space 48 – a digital technology agency.

To encourage career and personal development, the Postgraduate Careers Service at Alliance Manchester Business School (Alliance MBS) has created a number of sector-oriented clubs that are open to Full-time MBA and Masters students. There are currently seven clubs: Banking & Finance; Consulting; Entrepreneurship; Energy & Industry; Marketing; Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT); and Women in Business.

Esteban Dominguez, Senior Careers Consultant, explains, “Student-run and mentored by the Postgraduate Careers Service, the clubs offer a platform where members can interact with like-minded students, share experiences, explore career options and acquire sufficient knowledge to understand which sector to target post-degree. Each club is run by a board, providing a space for individuals to experiment with leadership roles and raise awareness of the latest developments in the sector.”

Alliance MBS’ TMT club is a student-run club looking to strengthen relationships between business students and the TMT industry. Events form a key part of our strategy; for example we recently hosted a panel discussion evening with four technology start-up founders who shared their experiences and lessons learned. Most recently, we were thrilled to secure sponsorships from a company called Space 48, which is great progress for our club.

John Woods, President, TMT club, said, “The support and sponsorship from Space 48 will allow the club to expand its events programme in 2016 and help us to bring more industry experts to the School and University. The club has already hosted events at the business school in 2016 and plans to run more guest speaker evenings, panel events and industry visits over the next few months.”
