Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa: endorsement applications now being accepted

If you are looking to set up a business in the UK and are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland and meet other eligibility criteria then you may be interested in applying for a Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa. A key requirement of the application process is that your business idea is judged to be ‘genuine and credible’ and that your application has official endorsement to that effect.

The University of Manchester is able to support a maximum of 20 visa applications which must be processed before March 2015. If you have recently graduated or expect to graduate before Christmas then you can apply to be endorsed by following the process outlined on the University Careers Service website.

The deadline for applications is 3pm, Friday 10 October 2014. Applicants that are judged to have a ‘genuine and credible’ business proposal will be invited to present to a panel around mid-October with a final decision to be endorsed made around the beginning of November 2014.

If you are interested in applying then please email enterprise@manchester.ac.uk in the first instance.
