November has been a very exciting month!
“Remember remember the 5th of November!” on bonfire night, a few friends and I went to Platt Field’s park for the funfair and firework display. The bonfire started at 7.30PM and was followed by a 10-minute firework display which was amazing but it was freezing this year.
I also went for a hike with the kickboxing society and it was physically challenging, but the view was amazing, the English countryside is really something else! The hike was at Edale, Peak District. It was really easy to get there by train, about a 40 min train ride from Manchester Piccadilly station, and 11 quid (without railcard) for an open return. The trail was rather muddy that day and the wind was really strong, so if any of you are planning on going for a hike, you might want to check the weather forecast before that (hiking boots are encouraged J). After the hike we went to a small country pub to have some drinks and a quick bite.
Another thing that made November so interesting was that my high school best friend from Malaysia, drove from Malaysia to London, yes you read it right, he DROVE (!!!) for 17,000km and about one and a half months! Basically, the route he took was from Malaysia – Thailand – Laos – China – Russia – Eastern Europe – Germany – France – London. When he finally arrived in London, I took a train down and met up with him. I remember back in summer when he first told me about his plan and both of us had our doubts but I am so proud of him for sticking with what he wanted to do and succeeding with it! If any of you are interested in his adventure you can definitely check out his Instagram profile, he takes amazing pictures! @adrihazimrashid
It’s the most beautiful time of the year! (Not yet, but soon). The Christmas markets are back and Manchester is looking very festive with Zippy the Santa back in Albert Square. I love Christmas markets even with its overpriced hot chocolate, but there’s something about holding a hot drink in a cute mug on a cold night that puts you in a good mood haha!
The business school also joined in with the festive mood by hosting the annual Christmas Ball at the Midland hotel! It was so fun and for only 10 pounds we get free booze, 3 course meal and 2 photo booths! We had an absolute blast at the ball, thank you AMBS!
Now I’m just looking forward to the Christmas break!
