Professor Jakob Edler, Executive Director of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, has become an elected member of the German National Academy for Science and Engineering (Acatech).
Prof Edler was inaugurated at the Academy’s annual conference in Berlin last week. Acatech is a leading organisation within the European association of science and engineering academies network, and Prof Edler has become a member following his work in science and innovation policy and strategy.
Said Prof Edler: “I am honoured to become a member as a social scientist working on innovation. Acatech is a working academy and very visible in German policy-oriented discourse. So there are a lot of interesting opportunities to contribute to an enlightened debate on the opportunities and challenges from emerging technologies and innovation-driven systems change, and the role of policy and society.”
