Building a new business model in a mature market

Tim is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Ocado.  As well as having general oversight of the business, the IT, logistics and engineering, warehouse, operations, business planning and retail divisions of Ocado report directly to him.

Prior to Ocado, Tim spent eight years as a banker at Goldman Sachs, he was based in London, Hong Kong and New York in the Fixed Income division.  It was there that Tim met Jason Gissing and Jon Faiman, his fellow founders.

Ocado was launched in January 2000 as a concept and started trading as a business in partnership with Waitrose in January 2002.

The company was floated on the London Stock Exchange on 21 July 2010 and is currently a member of the FTSE 250 Index.

Tim graduated from Manchester University with an honours degree in economics, finance and accountancy in 1992.
