Delivering business transformation in a highly regulated environment

Simon Bowen joined Urenco UK as the Managing Director in November 2010. He has extensive experience in the petrochemical and energy sectors and joined Urenco from his own consultancy company where he was involved in private equity led renewable energy projects and company turnarounds. Most recently he commissioned a waste to energy facility in the UK and led the turnaround of a French petrochemical complex as the interim General Manager.

Simon’s corporate experience was gained over 15 years in a variety of senior roles at BP. His last role was as Vice President of Manufacturing and Procurement for Petrochemicals covering a spend of circa $5bn per year.  He also ran the chemical complex at Baglan Bay where he led the plant closures and the redevelopment of the Site. During this time he was the project director for the 500MW power station build at the site, a project run between BP and GE.
