IT Counts. Discover ITMB at MBS


A free event for year 12 students interested in studying IT and Business at University.
Tuesday 17 June 2014 at MBS.

ITMB is Manchester Business School’s flagship IT and Business degree – BSc (Hons) Information Technology Management for Business – and can be studied over three or four years including a work placement year.

We are hosting a ‘Discover ITMB’ event for Year 12 students interested in studying IT and Business at university. The event is free to attend and will take place on Tuesday 17th June 2014.

Interactive sessions covering careers, key skills and networking

9.45-10am: Arrival, registration and refreshments
10-10.15am: Welcome and introduction to MBS – Nikolay Mehandjiev and Ali Owrak
10.15-11am: Careers in IT – panel session – Industry experts from Accenture, Fujitsu, GSK and IBM*
11-11.15am: Break and networking with industry experts and students
11.15-11.45am: Mini lecture: Social Media Marketing – Ali Owrak
11.45-12.45pm: Campus tour with current ITMB students
12.45-1.30pm: Lunch break
1.30-2.30pm: Interactive workshop – ‘Spread the Word’ – In groups, you will plan a social media campaign around a given case study
2.30-2.45pm: IT Counts – student project case study – Current ITMB students to present project work
2.45-3pm: Closing Q&A and evaluations
