MBA and DBA alumnus, Dr Simon Hayward, CEO of Cirrus, launched his book, Connected Leadership, at Alliance Manchester Business School on Tuesday 19 January.
Simon was introduced by Professor Fiona Devine OBE, Head of the School, who described the book as “a very practical guide to changing your leadership style to encourage shared decision making.”
Simon talked about how proud he is to have been associated with the School for over 30 years. He completed his MBA there in 1986 and is a former chair of the alumni association.
Connected Leadership, which is currently WHSmith’s Business Book of the Month in the UK, draws on doctoral research carried out by Simon at Alliance Manchester Business School over a four year period. Simon was awarded his DBA in 2015.
Simon thanked everyone at Alliance MBS for their support over the years. He spoke about the aims of the book, which is a practical guide to creating a more agile, customer-driven business. It distills his academic research and combines it with case studies from widely admired organisations and useful hints and tips for readers.
Dr Matthew Allen, Head of the DBA programme, chaired a lively Q&A session and Simon signed books for guests.
