AMBS secures top‑five UK ranking
Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) has retained its position in the UK’s top five leading business schools in the Financial Times Global MBA Rankings for 2026.
The annual ranking of the world’s best full-time MBAs places AMBS in 5th place in the UK, 15th in Europe and 49th in the world. Whilst this represents a small drop from 46th place in 2025, the rankings demonstrate a consistent performance in the UK top five.
AMBS has improved in seven categories, including a 43-place jump from 53rd to 10th in the world and first in the UK for sector diversity. This reflects the rich and varied career backgrounds our MBA students bring to the School.
The AMBS Postgraduate Careers Service is the most highly ranked in the UK and 8th best in the world, as rated by alumni. This recognises the effectiveness of the incredible support offered to Manchester MBA students in career counselling, personal development, networking, and support with internships.
Professor Ken McPhail, Head of Alliance Manchester Business School said: “Over the last twelve months, we have all experienced an incredibly challenging global landscape. That’s why I’m especially pleased that our alumni are making an impressive impact across a range of sectors and industries internationally; and that they have recognised the outstanding efforts of our Postgraduate Careers team in supporting them throughout their leadership journey. My thanks go to our MBA alumni and to our hardworking colleagues here at AMBS."
“We are exceptionally proud to be one of the UK’s leading business schools, based in one of the most dynamic and innovative cities in the world.”
This year more than 100 international business schools took part in the global rankings and were surveyed by the Financial Times, alongside alumni who completed their MBA three years ago (Class of 2022).
