The Journal of Marketing-AMBS Research Development Workshop: Developing and Publishing Research about Real-World Marketing Questions

This workshop will offer knowledge and skills to advanced doctoral students, early career scholars as well as more advanced academics interested in publishing research on important real-world marketing questions and problems. 

The 1.5 day event (full day on Thursday the 12th, half day on Friday the 13th), held at Alliance Manchester Business School, will involve plenary speakers associated with the Journal of Marketing – Editor-in-Chief Christine Moorman and co-editor Robert Palmatier, as well as associate editors and members of the editorial review board – followed by workshop-style activities in which participants will have an opportunity to develop and pitch their research ideas to the editorial team and other participants. 

The Journal of Marketing is one of the leading outlets for research in marketing. It develops and disseminates knowledge about real-world marketing questions useful to scholars, educators, managers, policy makers, consumers, and other societal stakeholders around the world. This workshop supports Journal of Marketing’s mission in important ways.

Alliance Manchester Business School’s globally recognised research influences businesses, policy makers and many other stakeholders. Our experts address some of the world’s biggest issues and generate insights that make a real difference for the better; we disseminate our findings in collaborations with international partners, as well as in our teaching, advisory and public speaking roles. The Management Science and Marketing Division at Alliance Manchester Business School is proud to host this workshop.

Booking your place

If you are an advanced doctoral student, an early career scholar or more advanced academic looking for new research insights and approaches, please register your interest to attend by selecting “Book my place” and by providing the requested information by August 1, 2019. The information will be used for allocating participants into workshop groups (this will be done predominantly based on areas of research interest and levels of scholarly experience). Please note that limited amount of spaces is available. Therefore, we recommend you to register soon. Once we have received your registration, we will contact you and confirm that you have secured a place, or that you have been added to the waiting list.

We are also looking for a small number of workshop facilitators. If you are an experienced marketing scholar (Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer or above) and interested in supporting this event by participating the workshop discussions as a facilitator, please indicate this when booking your place. As a way to thank our external facilitators for supporting the event, their participation fee will be waived.
