We are delighted to announce that Dr Janine-Nicole Desai has been appointed to the Alliance Manchester Business School Advisory Board. Janine is the Founder and Director of Outside Partner Ltd.

Career history
From her first role in consulting over 25 years ago, Janine has built a distinguished career in human resources and organisational development across a diverse range of industries, including financial services, retail, hospitality, and technology. She has held senior leadership positions at globally recognised brands such as Goldman Sachs, DSGi, and Hilton Worldwide, consistently operating in fast-paced, commercially driven environments.
Janine currently divides her time between leading the people strategy for a global tech scale-up and running her own HR & OD consultancy. Her client portfolio spans major corporations like British Airways to purpose-led organisations such as Tommy’s Charity, reflecting her versatility and deep commitment to impactful work. She brings extensive board-level experience in both executive and non-executive capacities, with a strong focus on governance and strategic people leadership.
Originally from Germany and now based in the UK, Janine has always worked in multicultural and international contexts. She is particularly passionate about cultivating healthy, high-performing organisations where wellbeing and business success go hand in hand.
Janine holds an MBA and a PhD in Service Quality from Alliance Manchester Business School, where her research focused on the link between organisational culture and financial performance.
Advisory Board
The AMBS Advisory Board, which is chaired by Kenneth Lever, advises the School's leadership team on the development of the School's strategy. It supports with the development of corporate, institutional and governmental links and offers an external perspective on the School's products and services.
