Highly cited and award-winning marketing academic Lloyd C. Harris has been appointed as Professor in Marketing at Alliance Manchester Business School.
In a recent study (Ioannidis et al. 2020) of 100,000 social scientists Professor Harris was rated as the 34th highest cited research in the global field of marketing and the highest ranked UK based scholar.
He has published more than 200 articles, papers, and texts. His recent awards in marketing include best services marketing paper by the American Marketing Association (AMA), a best paper award, and an outstanding paper award for the Journal of Services Marketing.
Professor Harris’ work has included studies of marketing, strategy, HR, organisational behaviour and general management, while he has undertaken research on areas such as the interface between marketing and HR, customer and employee misbehaviour in services, and organisational culture.
He has served on the editorial and advisory boards of several academic and practitioner-focused journals and is an active member of AMA, the Academy of Marketing Science, and the (British) Academy of Marketing.
He is also an editorial board review panel member for the Journal of Service Research, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Marketing Theory, and the Journal of Management Development.
Professor Harris has also been involved in several major consulting projects across the public and private sectors, and has also led training courses for business executives on strategic marketing, marketing management and human resource management.
Professor Harris joins AMBS from Birmingham Business School where he was Head of Department and Professor of Marketing, while other previous roles include Head of Department and Professor of Marketing at Warwick Business School, and Chair in Strategic Marketing at Cardiff Business School.
