Gillian Drakeford
Born and raised in the North West, Gillian is married with 3 children and has recently returned to the UK following and extensive career leading international retail enterprises for IKEA Group in diverse markets. As CEO she led the establishment of IKEA in China and a business turnaround in UK & Ireland. More recently responsible for IKEA’s global consumer experience based in the Netherlands.
A visionary strategic thinker with an aptitude for translating strategy into reality through storytelling. Gillian is acknowledged for building and shaping organisational culture through purpose, connection and meaningful work.
With a passion for making a difference for people and business Gillian has a reputation of spotting talents and nurturing qualities key to the success of future leaders.
Now developing a pleural career as a mentor, senior advisor and non- executive director focused on consumer businesses. Currently Chair Designate at Back on Track a Manchester based charity and an advisor to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Good Employment Charter.
