Sally Hobbs
Sally has been active throughout her life in equality and inclusion work, starting her professional career as a housing activist in a time of dire housing conditions for many homelessness and neglected localities.
Her professional life has always been coupled with volunteering and activism – in particular as one of the founding members of Manchester Women's Aid, and later as a trustee, treasurer and vice chair of the nationally recognised Pankhurst Trust.
Six years ago, Sally co-founded a coaching service as part of the work of the Pankhurst Trust; an entirely volunteer led and run women's leadership programme aimed at women excluded by traditional costly coaching provision.
Supported by the many professional and experienced women coaches who provided pro-bono coaching, over 250 women across Greater Manchester have benefitted so far, and Sally remains on the Board of the newly independent Queen Bee Coaching.
Sally's professional career, covering housing activism and social housing management, led to more senior roles in supported housing commissioning and housing policy and partnership development. She held later roles in senior/executive public service commissioning in Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region social care and health, pushing for resources to flow towards carers, families, and communities.
