For the July ‘Women Leading in Business’ session we are going off campus for a site visit to Campfield in Castlefield.

Gloria Cherono

Gloria Cherono is a social entrepreneur and current MBA student at the University of Manchester, where she is a Forte Fellow and Peter Folkman Scholar.

Prior to the MBA she founded Envirofly, a nature-based circular economy enterprise transforming organic waste into high value insect protein and bio fertilizer. Her work diverts 100 tons of waste each year, generates 66 tons of carbon savings, and supports a network of over 200,000 smallholder farmers across Kenya.

Gloria has also contributed to global innovation efforts at the UN World Food Programme, where she supported 45 early stage ventures and helped unlock over $2 million in catalytic funding for food security solutions.

She is a World Bank Youth Summit Pitch Competition winner, an MIT SOLVE Innovator, and WFP Next Gen Innovator. She is passionate about climate action, responsible business, and championing women in leadership.
