Professor Jackie Carter
Jackie is emerita professor at the University of Manchester. She has spent her career working in and with education and industry. She's the author of 2 books - "Practitioner, Professor, Researcher, Reformer: Women's Atypical Stories" and "Work placements, internships and applied social research".
Jackie will share how she has navigated her squiggly career from her working-class heritage to becoming an atypical academic. Her talk "We are all more than the sum of our parts" sets out to make us all think about how we can weave our strengths and passions together to create rich and fulfilling careers. She will talk about the ground breaking work she has pioneered with women in tech and share her thoughts on leadership from her own experiences as well as those uncovered with the thirty women interviewed in her latest book.
Jackie encourages us to "be the voice in the room you want to hear" and she'll share why this is so important in a world striving for more equity. Come along to learn how as a disabled woman Jackie navigates her life with grace and purpose.
This event will be hosted by MBA alumna Claire-Marie Boggiano, Lurig Change & Development.
