Naeema Choudry

This month we will hear from Naeema Choudry. Naeema is a partner in Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP's human resources practice group based in Manchester. She is an expert on equality law and heads up the firm’s discrimination and employment litigation practices. Naeema advises on all aspects of employment law for clients in the public and private sector, including for a number of large employers who are household names. She has particular experience of dealing with clients in the consumer, nuclear and aerospace industries. Naeema regularly works in a cross border environment. Naeema is currently advising clients on how to prepare for ethnicity pay reporting and regularly speaks and writes on the subject.

Naeema is an highly experienced Employment Tribunal litigator who has been appearing regularly in Tribunals throughout the UK since 1995. Naeema also advises clients on cases in the Employment Appeal Tribunal and in the Court of Appeal. In 2013, Naeema was appointed a fee paid Employment Tribunal Judge sitting in the Midlands (West) Region. In November 2019 Naeema was appointed to sit as a Deputy Chair in the Central Arbitration Committee adjudging on collective employment disputes.

Naeema is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences. She contributes to a variety of publications and broadcast media. She is also featured in the Legal 500, Legal Experts and Chambers directories in which she is noted for her "articulate and professional manner" and "high level of competency in various areas, from tribunals, to pension issues, to discrimination" and as someone "you would want in your corner".

Naeema is also Co-Partner sponsor of the Eversheds Sutherland BAME Network, Verve. She also sits on the steering committee of the firm’s Gender Network and the firm’s Inclusion Council which is chaired by the CEO. In addition, Naeema is a Trustee of the Eversheds Sutherland Charitable Trust and is an Ambassador for Women on Boards.
