In conversation with Sherry Coutu: How a digital boost can help small businesses survive and thrive in the wake of COVID-19

The pandemic has particularly impacted SMEs with forecasts that up to a fifth of small businesses could run out of cash because of the economic fallout. At the same time the crisis has also shown how SMEs lag far behind larger firms in terms of their digital investment, resulting in a major productivity and pay gap.

At our latest Vital Topics debate we are delighted to be joined by entrepreneur and angel investor Sherry Coutu who will discuss these pressing issues and how the development of digital learning platforms will now play a crucial role in terms of helping SMEs get through the economic downturn, and of the urgent need for small companies to go on a rapid upskilling journey to grow their online revenues.

She will also talk about the key role that large companies can also play in terms of supporting SMEs in their own business communities.

The conversation will be facilitated by Prof Luke Georghiou, Deputy President & Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Manchester.
