Event Type

The Scale-Up Forum is a peer-to-peer network for ambitious scaling up businesses in Greater Manchester. It gives businesses at all stages of the scale up journey the opportunity to share experiences, challenges and lessons learnt for mutual business benefit.

Launched in 2018, it provides a platform for businesses in the scale up phase to gain insight from their peers and from academic experts on challenges experienced by business growing at pace, whatever their sector. The Forum is managed and delivered by our Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange team, who help to identify routes for mutually-beneficial collaboration between our academic researchers and business partners.

Our quarterly events are all based around themes proposed by the partner firms.

Applications of AI

This event will look at ‘Adopting AI’ - incorporating expected growth in AI over the next 5 years. Our speakers will explore how businesses are adopting this technology without losing the human touch and how can business make better use of existing every-day tech.

Our academic speaker will be Professor Nikolay Mehandjiev, Professor of Enterprise Information Systems, Alliance Manchester Business School, who will be joined by industry speaker INEVITABLE to talk about AI from a practitioner perspective.

Following the speaker presentations we will move to Q&A session, we tend to have a very engaged audience and encourage full participation, inviting all attendees to answer as well as ask questions.

Schedule

For guests attending in-person at Alliance Manchester Business School there will drinks and networking after the lecture in the AMBS foyer.

For those unable to attend in person the lecture will be streamed live.
