Conference on ESG and Climate Finance

Supported by the Lord Alliance Strategic Fund, the Accounting and Finance Division and the Centre for the Analysis of Investment Risk at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) are collaborating with leading academics and industry leaders to organise a one-day in-person conference on May 9th, focusing on corporate challenges and solutions relating to climate risk.

The conference’s keynote academic speaker is Prof Harrison Hong, Professor of Financial Economics, Columbia University, and the industry speakers include Lindsey Stewart, Director of Investment Stewardship Research at Morningstar Europe Ltd., and David Gorman, Partner and Co-owner of Castlefield Investment Partners LLP.

The conference will offer attendees the opportunities to debate strategic approaches and processes for mitigating the risk of climate change while navigating evolving regulatory challenges associated with more stringent climate and environmental policy. The conference will feature industry and academic presentations, with opportunities to hear from experts and strategic players in regional and national climate policy. Presentations will focus on key challenges for corporate managers, asset managers, investors, and regulators.

The conference will also provide discussion opportunities to allow attendees to share best practice and debate how the financial and corporate sectors can navigate changing policy and commercial landscapes to embrace the opportunities they bring about.

The event will be open to academics and practitioners interested in climate risk and finance and ESG in general.
