Alejandro Giron profile

Alejandro Giron

We recently caught up with Alejandro, who graduated from the MSc Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship course in 2021, to reflect on his experiences.

Why did you choose to study this Masters course at Alliance Manchester Business School?

“It was because the University of Manchester is one of the best universities in the world. In the long term I want to become an entrepreneur myself so I was thought this course is going to give me the skills to start my own business in the future.”

What did you most enjoy about your time at Alliance MBS?

“I enjoyed working with the people that I met on the course. They’re resilient, they are strong and I met really good people from different courses too.”

What was your favourite programme module?

“One of my favourite modules was high tech entrepreneurship because it was really practical and it was focused on what entrepreneurship was and how to create a start-up.”

What have you been doing since graduation – can you briefly describe your job role?

“I’m working in e-commerce at the moment. I joined an e-commerce company here in Manchester and what I'm doing right now is affiliation and partnerships so it's a little bit of how to create, talk with different affiliates, marketing of affiliation and how to collaborate with different brands.”

How has your time at Alliance MBS helped you in your current role/with your career?

Alliance Manchester Business School has a lot of different services that I think that people should take advantage of. One of the best services is the careers service which helped me a lot. They trained me for interviews and reviewed my CV and would highly encourage other students engage with the team.”

What advice would you give to those considering studying at Alliance Manchester Business School?

“My advice would be to use all services the University has to offer and make friends not just with people on your course but on different courses because it gives you a different perspective for your studies.”

What are your favourite things about Manchester as a city?

“It’s affordable for students and for people who want to start their careers. I also like the nightlife here in Manchester. There are a lot of pubs and things going on like live music. It’s a great city to start your career in.”

What is your best memory of studying at Alliance MBS?

“I think that my best memory was when I was a student representative for course. We organised a series of events with entrepreneurs from Spotify, Audi and Amazon to talk to students. I was also nominated for PGT Student of the Year which is a great memory too.
