This month we will hear from Nimrah Munir, Principal Scientist, Biomaterials at QV Bioelectronics.
Nimrah Munir
Nimrah is an interdisciplinary scientist and has got an undergraduate degree in Applied Pharmacology from Queen Margaret University, where she received The Royal Society of Biology Top Student Award (2015), and a PhD in Bioengineering from The University of Edinburgh. Her work focused on the production of scaffolds to promote cartilage tissue regeneration for the treatment of osteoarthritis.
Nimrah is now the Principal Biomaterial Scientist at QV Bioelectronics, where she is leading the development of their core electrode technology for the treatment of the brain tumour glioblastoma. She has led the complex development of their core electrode technology which is part of QVs cutting-edge electric field therapy device called GRACE.
Nimrah received Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award in 2022 for her work. Recently, she has been shortlisted for a Northern Power Women Award in the ‘One to Watch’ category.
