The Alliance MBS master's experience

Our master's courses will give you the tools for life. Our campus and city, the time of your life.

Manchester is one of the most vibrant and exciting destinations in the world – a place to study, learn and enjoy yourself. Our campus is packed with great social, cultural and support facilities and is located close to the centre of Manchester, the UK’s most popular student city.

As part of the University’s £1 billion campus masterplan, we unveiled a full interior and exterior building refurbishment that has had a major impact on the student experience.

Cost of living

The cost of living in Manchester is less than in other large UK cities such as London.

It's a good idea to carefully plan your budget while you're a student to ensure that you have enough money to live on and to complete your studies. The figures below give a breakdown of the estimated living costs of an average Manchester master's student for one academic year (52 weeks).

Accommodation (average cost for self-catering halls): £7,155

Meals (excluding meals out): £2,025

Clothes (including warm clothing and footwear): £520

Local transport (excludes travelling home/visiting friends): £535

Other (e.g. e.g. books, equipment, mobile phone bill, socialising, laundry,
photocopying and printing): £2,600

Total: £12,835

The best thing about Manchester is that it is a student-friendly city. There’s always a new place to go and you’ll never stop exploring and discovering new places with your friends.
