All our meeting and teaching spaces are equipped with IT and audio-visual facilities. We can also supply hearing loops and BSL interpreters to make your event fully accessible.
Each of our spaces can be booked with catering. With a focus on sustainability, we can supply a selection of food options, including light refreshments and beverages tailored to all dietary requirements.

AMBS has a range of 20 classrooms, varying in capacity from 30 to 110 delegates. Some classrooms feature movable divider walls, allowing spaces to be split into two separate rooms to suit smaller groups or parallel sessions.
Our classrooms can be arranged in a variety of layouts, including theatre, cabaret, and U-shape, depending on your event needs.

Comfort/Wellbeing room
We have an assigned comfort/wellbeing room for students, colleagues and visitors to use. The room provides a private space for anyone who might need some quiet time. It can also be used for:
- Consultations with medical practitioners
- Expressing and storing milk - there is a fridge and labels in the room for this
- Self-administering prescribed drugs or medical treatments.
The comfort/wellbeing room number is 2.094 - you can ask for a key at the AMBS reception desk.
Gender-neutral toilets
Gender-neutral toilet facilities are available within the venue, supporting inclusivity and ensuring all attendees can access facilities that feel safe and appropriate for them.
Multi faith prayer rooms
Multi faith prayer rooms are available, offering a quiet, respectful, and private space for prayer, reflection, or religious observance throughout your event.
Quiet rooms
Quiet rooms can be available on request for attendees who may benefit from a calm, low-stimulation environment. These spaces are designed to support neurodivergent attendees, those with sensory sensitivities, anxiety, fatigue, or anyone needing time away from the main conference activity.
If you have specific accessibility, inclusion, or wellbeing requirements for your event, we encourage you to discuss these with our team. We're always happy to help and work with you to ensure the environment is welcoming, supportive, and accessible for all attendees.

Hosting your event at AMBS

We recognise that not all disabilities are visible - you can request reasonable adjustments with our team. We aim to operate inclusive practises to fully support your event.
In some circumstances, our facilities may require additional equipment - if you require any access needs, you should let us know in advance.
Where appropriate, we may need to escalate to our School Safety Advisor in case of an emergency. This means we can create a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan to:
- Locate a place of safety at one of our refuge points
- Ensure that the correct level of assistance is always available.
Cloak room
To support your event, we offer a cloakroom service, providing guests with a secure place to store coats and personal items.
Conference registration
A dedicated registration desk is available on request for organisers to use as their own check-in area. If required, the desk can also be staffed by trained student ambassadors to support registration and delegate enquiries.
Digital display
Digital signage is available on request and can be used to display event schedules, key information, and real-time updates across the venue.
Signage
Wayfinding signage can be available on request for you to position throughout the venue to help delegates navigate easily between rooms and key areas.
The Hyatt Regency and Hyatt House hotel is located just 10 metres from AMBS, offering preferential rates for students, staff, alumni, and attendees of events at AMBS or The University of Manchester.

Travel by train
AMBS is close to both Piccadilly main line station and Oxford Road train station. Victoria train station is a little further away, but you can get to AMBS by taxi or the Metrolink tram.
You can get to AMBS by walking from the two main train stations or Metrolink stop nearby:

Travel from Manchester Airport
The University of Manchester campus and AMBS are located about 10 miles from the airport, which is roughly 30 minutes by car. You can get to AMBS from the airport by taxi or train - trains run frequently from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly station.
