How can I learn more about the keynote speech?

ESG has become a major consideration for investors and business leaders, but understanding its impact on business value remains far from straightforward. In particular, questions remain about whether strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance creates or destroys shareholder value, and what the empirical evidence tells us about this relationship.

During this keynote, Manchester Full-time MBA Director Marie Dutordoir will explore what the evidence tells us about the relationship between ESG and shareholder value, and why measuring ESG is often more complex than it appears.

The discussion will also look ahead to developments in sustainable corporate finance, including the challenges of measuring ESG, the need for greater granularity beyond aggregate ESG scores, and the growing role of green financing and sustainable financial instruments in creating both environmental impact and shareholder value.

The session will be highly interactive, with plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and audience input.

Is this event hybrid?

No. The Manchester MBA Open Day will be in person only and will not be livestreamed. Therefore it is a great chance for you to connect in-person with current students, academics, and more. If you cannot attend but would like to be notified of future Open Days, please fill in the form and we will contact you via email.
